Trane was founded in Wisconsin in 1885 by James Trane, a plumber who grew his reputation with a low-pressure heating system he invented to combat harsh winters. He and his son Rueben would later incorporate, creating The Trane Company in 1913.
Despite being founded as a heating company, Trane Air Conditioning and Heating now supplies a full line of air conditioning and heating equipment, including residential and commercial HVAC. Trane also manufactures a full line of all HVAC equipment, including heat pumps, air conditioners, heaters, oil furnaces, gas furnaces, package units, and ductless systems. While Trane does make a residential series air conditioning and heating unit, it is better known for their solid reputation in the commercial HVAC industry. They also own and make equipment under the name American Standard.
Trane heating and cooling units are reputable within the HVAC industry and tend to be on the higher price range for newer products. But they are serviceable and when it comes to repairing your Trane furnace or air conditioner, you can count on the team of professionals at Able Heating and Cooling.
